Educated parents know their rights and can be better advocates for their children.
Informational WebinarsNFADB combines efforts with the National Center on Deaf-Blindness (NCDB) and other organizations to deliver online webinars. Families and professionals are invited to attend at no cost. These webinars are advertised through the website, Facebook page and the Listserv. Watch for information about future webinars.
In 2012 and 2016, NFADB and NCDB offered national symposia for family leaders across the country. As a result of these trainings, NFADB and families across the country are advocating for awareness and funding for the use of interpreters, interveners and SSPs at local, state and national levels.
NFADB has collaborated over many years with the National Center on Deaf-Blindness to develop a website focused on family leadership. NCDB provides a place to bring a network of people and organizations together to share ideas, resources and support for leadership training for parents and other family members of individuals with disabilities. Everything on the Families Lead website is open source and can be copied, adapted and used by any interested parties. We only ask that you give credit to the original source.
